Some people have been able to make a living out of refurbishing items from return pallets.

In December 2021, PaymentSense's annual report stated online returns alone cost UK retailers £5.2 billion a year.

The data showed "serial refunders" cost small businesses in the UK an average of £15,600 a month.

Furthermore, Analysis looked at the top 500 retailers in the UK to see which customers were looking the most for free returns.

Amazon took the top spot with an average of 4,400 searches per month with Asos, Shein, Zara, and Boohoo following closely behind.
